Monday April 14: Permissions, notifications, and ServiceNow in Guardrails

Account-level permissions and flexible notification routing

Guardrails now supports account-level permissions, allowing you to assign specific permissions to individual accounts, enhancing security and compliance by enabling granular access control. Additionally, flexible notification routing allows you to customize how and where notifications are sent, ensuring that the right people receive the right information at the right time.

Use any ServiceNow table

Custom table discovery is now available in Guardrails, allowing you to use any ServiceNow table beyond the pre-configured CMDB Application, Cost Center, and User tables. The ability to discover and manage records from any table in ServiceNow is a powerful addition for enriching context when managing your cloud resources in Guardrails. Additionally, Record Filtering controls let you determine which records sync to Guardrails using ServiceNow query filters, enabling targeted data synchronization that provides focused and relevant information for your governance needs.

Tuesday April 15: Ask better questions and build and deploy mods from GitLab in Pipes

New query experience with integrated examples

Pipes now features a new query experience that integrates examples directly into the query interface. The enhanced schema explorer provides a more intuitive way to navigate and understand your connections and available tables. This update makes it easier to find and run queries, helping teams get answers faster with less effort.

GitLab integration for private projects, custom mods, and instant deploys

Pipes now includes a GitLab integration for deploying custom mods directly from GitLab projects (private and public). Deploy your changes from GitLab and see them instantly in Pipes.

Wednesday April 16: New log capabilities in Tailpipe

Collect and query custom logs

Tailpipe now supports the collection and querying of custom logs, allowing users to ingest and analyze logs from any source, regardless of whether there is plugin available. Use formats such as jsonl and delimited, or use grok or regex to parse loglines in any source format.

Analyze web access logs

Collect and query web access logs from Apache, Nginx, or AWS S3, and analyze them with new dashboard and detection mods. Identify potential security threats and exposure to vulnerabilities using popular frameworks like the OWASP Top 10 or MITRE ATT&CK.

Collect and query AWS cost and usage

Tailpipe now supports the collection and querying of AWS cost and usage data, enabling users to gain insights into their cloud spending and optimize their resource allocation. This feature enhances the financial visibility of cloud operations.

Thursday April 17: New AI capabilities for Tailpipe, Powerpipe, and Steampipe

With the release of new MCP servers for Steampipe, Tailpipe, and Powerpipe, you can now use your favorite AI agent or code assistant to query your cloud infrastructure, logs, and even build and remix mods. This is a game-changer for users looking to leverage AI in their cloud operations.
