Our passion for innovation in this space, and the consistent expansion of our product suite, have led us to an important crossroads. It’s time for our identity to reflect the evolution and future aspirations of our product suite.
Today we launch a comprehensive rebranding that embraces our history, while paving the way for an even brighter and more exciting future.
Turbot Guardrails
Our flagship product, known until now as "Turbot", has been the cornerstone of our identity for 10 years. Many of you may recall first seeing Turbot at a trade show, proudly displaying our marketing tagline: "Go faster. Safely. With Turbot Guardrails". This wasn't just a catchphrase, but a commitment to provide tooling that enabled our customers to accelerate their cloud strategy, while remaining safe on their journey.
Our signage at these shows would display “Guardrails” in such a prominent position that customers would often come up and say “Tell me about your Guardrails product”.
Our inner control freaks have finally relented and we are happy to announce that our flagship product will now be known officially as "Turbot Guardrails", or "Guardrails" for short:
This new identity embraces our marketing history and our promotion of the guardrails concept across the cloud operations and security domains.
Steampipe Cloud becomes Turbot Pipes
A more recent product offering from Turbot, "Steampipe Cloud", will also transition its name to "Turbot Pipes". This rebranding strengthens its connection to the Turbot family while acknowledging its relationship to Steampipe:
The open-source project "Steampipe" will retain its name, to demonstrate our commitment to the community that has built up around it, and will remain hosted on steampipe.io to honor its unique role in our ecosystem. We will continue to invest heavily into building out the capabilities of Steampipe and fostering its community.

To codify these exciting changes, we have refreshed our websites to make it simpler to understand our product offerings and better distinguish between the different solutions we offer. This change isn't just about new names – it's about ensuring our brand clearly represents our dedication, innovation, and commitment to you, our users.
