Generate real-time remediation steps for control alerts including Guardrails Quick Actions, cloud provider CLI commands, and Terraform plans.

Guardrails has always been able to automatically fix cloud misconfigurations through auto-remediation controls. Now we're introducing Intelligent Fixes, a new AI-powered feature that provides instant, comprehensive remediation guidance for control alerts across AWS, Azure, GCP, Kubernetes, and GitHub.

This provides helpful, step-by-step instructions for application teams, tailored to their specific situation and resource context. While you're developing your governance posture or when your organization prefers application teams to take remediation action themselves, Intelligent Fixes bridges the gap between alert detection and resolution.

Bring Your Own AI

This new feature is powered by AI with the benefit of using your own AI access keys and models from OpenAI and Anthropic. By using your own AI credentials, you maintain complete control over your data and AI processing while leveraging your existing AI provider relationships and pricing agreements. This approach ensures your governance data never leaves your control and allows you to use the most advanced models available through your preferred AI provider.

Guardrails provides default system prompts and temperature controls that have been tested and optimized, which you can extend or customize as needed. To integrate your preferred AI service with Guardrails, follow our AI Configuration guide.

Getting Started with Intelligent Fixes

When a control enters an alarm state, the Intelligent Fixes feature analyzes the specific alert context and generates detailed remediation guidance that includes:

  1. Alert Summary: Clear explanation of why the control is in alarm and what needs to be addressed
  2. Guardrails Actions: Available Quick Actions and policy changes within the platform
  3. Cloud Provider CLI: Direct commands for AWS, Azure, gcloud, kubectl, and gh CLIs to fix the misconfiguration
  4. Infrastructure-as-Code: Terraform plans to remediate the issue via code

In this example, AWS CLI remediation guidance was selected. The generated summary includes background about the alert and specific AWS CLI commands to resolve the issue:

The step-by-step remediation steps ensures you have multiple pathways to resolve issues, whether you prefer working through Guardrails, cloud provider tools, or infrastructure-as-code. You can copy and execute the provided commands directly, apply the configurations to your workflow, or share the guidance with team members who have access to the affected resources.

Resolve Alerts Faster with Intelligent Fixes

Intelligent Fixes eliminate the friction between detecting governance issues and resolving them. By providing comprehensive, AI-generated remediation guidance, you can respond to control alerts faster and more effectively while learning best practices for maintaining cloud security and compliance. This approach gives you immediate, contextual solutions with multiple remediation pathways, ensuring consistency with your governance policies across all supported cloud platforms.
