Monday January 27: Securing GitHub with Guardrails
GitHub Organization Governance
Guardrails extends governance capabilities to GitHub organizations and repositories. This integration enables continuous monitoring of GitHub configurations, real-time detection of misconfigurations, and automated remediation. Key features include inventory tracking, audit trails, SecOps alerting for issues like unprotected branches and exposed secrets, and continuous compliance with automated corrections.
Tuesday January 28: Cloud Landing Zones with OpenTofu
OpenTofu is now supported in new and improved Guardrails Stack [Native] controls. This enables cloud teams to deploy and manage standardized patterns across their enterprise cloud environment while leveraging the community-driven, Linux Foundation-backed OpenTofu project. The integration provides unified governance, policy-driven control, automated drift correction, and context-aware deployments.
Wednesday January 29: Cloud Organization Integration
Native Cloud Organization Support
AWS Organizations, Azure Tenants, and GCP Organizations can now be imported into Guardrails with a few clicks and keystrokes. This enables teams to automatically sync and maintain their entire cloud organization structure in Guardrails. The feature provides instant discovery of accounts/subscriptions/projects, continuous synchronization as structures evolve, and flexible exclusion policies.
Guardrails controls can now be muted, enabling teams to focus on priorities by selectively suppressing controls based on context without compromising their security posture. It's particularly useful during scheduled maintenance, when actively addressing an issue, and when tuning detection logic.
New activity tracking dashboards for Guardrails enhance visibility into cloud environments. These dashboards transform comprehensive audit data into daily snapshots and trends, providing insights into controls, resources, and actions over time.
Thursday January 30: Introducing Tailpipe
Tailpipe, the first SIEM for builders, is launched! This lightweight and open source tool brings unified log collection and SQL-based analysis to your terminal, enabling you to analyze millions of events in seconds. It includes plugins for major cloud providers and integrates seamlessly with Powerpipe for advanced visualization and interactive threat hunting.
Lightweight, fully open source, and powered by DuckDB and Parquet, Tailpipe stretches the boundaries of SIEM. Fast, flexible, and developer-first, it's a natural fit for DevOps teams constrained by heavy, vendor-locked tools.
Powerpipe adds new detection mods powered by Tailpipe. Aligned with the MITRE ATT&CK framework, these mods provide pre-built dashboards and detections to monitor and analyze activity across AWS CloudTrail, Azure Activity, and GCP Audit logs.
Powerpipe gains powerful new visualization features including row-level filters, column filters, row views, and heatmap charts. These enhancements make benchmarks and dashboards more interactive and expressive than ever.
