New Support for the AWS Ohio (us-east-2) Region
We are happy to announce that us-east-2 region with three availability zones is now available in Turbot (just days after launch). The new region supports Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) and related services in the following sizes: C4, D2, I2, M4, R3, T2, and X1 instances. Turbot supports guardrails for VPCs in this region and has deployed Cloudwatch and Cloudtrail monitoring and logging support.
In addition Turbot supports all of our currently available AWS services in this region: Amazon API Gateway, Amazon Aurora, AWS Certificate Manager (ACM), AWS CloudFormation, Amazon CloudFront, Amazon CloudWatch (including CloudWatch Events and CloudWatch Logs), AWS CloudTrail, AWS CodeCommit, AWS CodeDeploy, AWS CodePipeline, AWS Config, AWS Database Migration Service, AWS Direct Connect, Amazon DynamoDB, Amazon ECS, Amazon Elastic File System, Amazon ElastiCache, AWS Elastic Beanstalk, Amazon EMR, Amazon Elasticsearch Service, AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM), AWS Import/Export Snowball, AWS Key Management Service (KMS), Amazon Kinesis, AWS Lambda, Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS), Amazon Redshift, Amazon Route 53, Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3) & Glacier, AWS Service Catalog, Amazon Simple Notification Service (SNS), Amazon Simple Queue Service (SQS), and AWS Storage Gateway

Another question that many of our enterprise customers have is how to effectively accomplish true regional disaster recovery and failover with AWS; this question is often raised in concurrence with hurricane season in the Eastern US (i.e. concerns about us-east-1 availability zones). This new east region with 3 additional availability zones offers 12ms latency to us-east-1, opening up a wide array of regional fault tolerance options for enterprise applications. In addition, the low latency will make your use of AWS cross-region services (e.g. S3 Cross-Region Replication & Cross-Region Read Replicas for Amazon Aurora, MySQL, and PostgreSQL) even more effective.
